Friday the 13th is the 12th episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd (series). It was released on October 13, 2006 and is 12 minutes and 20 seconds long. It guest stars Mike Matei as Jason Voorhees, the first of what would become a series of guest character roles.
In this episode of AVGN, it starts of with creepy music that's from one of the friday the 13th movies. The Nerd then starts by saying that the knife going into Jason's mask is cool. He then talks about how you start off with as a random camp counselor that was not in any of the movies and your current weapon is a rock. After he says he loves it, he looks behind him to see if anything is behind him. Then he starts to insult it, and just as he says if you think he was serious Jason pops up from behind him. After he says he was just kidding about how awful the game is, he goes on to saying how he likes the fact that the rock is a useless weapon, upgrading to the knife is essential. He then mentions when the Jason alarm goes off, you have to make it to the blinking cabin before Jason kills one of the camp counselors. when tries to go to the direction of the cabin, the Nerd then figures out that he was going the opposite direction because the map is like upside down or something. After he makes it to the cabin the counselor says thank you. Then he starts looking for Jason in the cabin. When he starts fighting Jason, he says that Jason is beating the crap out of him like in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! After he beats him, it then says he beat him, but he'll be back. After he reads that, he then goes on to say "Just like in the movie. Even though they called part 4 the final chapter, and then they make it all the way up to part 10, known as Jason X when he's in space." After that, he goes on to saying that the day to night transitions are a lot better than in Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest. When Jason pops out of nowhere and starts fighting you, the Nerd then says "doesn't Jason look good in purple?" When he goes into another cabin, he then goes on to say that he loves the fact that the kids have no face and that it gives him nightmares. When he's walking through the cabin, he likes the fact that it's only in the cabins when it's not a side scroller. When he gets lost in the cabin, the Nerd says he wants to get out. When he turns off the game and tries to escape, Jason chases after him. The Nerd heads toward the door, he tries to unlock it. Before he could unlock it, Jason shows up and then the Nerd says "Don't kill me." Jason holds up the game and wants him to play it. The Nerd then says "Kill me." He then shows you some of the options like changing camp counselors. When he changed counselors, your slower and you're back to using the rock again. As he gets back to playing the game, he then goes on to mention that he likes the fact that they added zombies and wolves in the game. Even Jason's mom makes an appearance and they remind him of those medusa heads from Castlevania 2, then he remembered those were from Castlevania 3. After he gets killed by Jason's mom, the game then says "You and your friends are dead. Game Over." The Nerd then calls that ingenious because nobody really dies in Nintendo, they're either defeated or turn into an item and float away. He then goes on to say if what if there was a sequel? After he says what the game over sign should say, he's pretty much done reviewing the game. When he turns off the NES, Jason throws him back on the couch and forces him to keep playing the game. At this point he doesn't really have much to say about the game. He then mentions the music in the game and how it just keeps looping. At this point, he starts to insult the game and says he'd rather play Doom on an Atari 5200, he'd rather play Halo on a Tiger electronic wrist game. He then starts to beat the crap out of Jason with the NES controller, and then he finished him off by blowing his head off with NES Zapper. The Nerd says the game is horrible and drinks to the point where he's passed out on his couch and then A Nightmare on Elm Streets' music plays. You then see Freddy Krueger's glove coming up from behind the Nerd's couch.
