Batman Forever

Batman Forever for the Super Nintendo.

Batman Forever is a 1995 Acclaim video game released for the PC, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Game Gear, and R-Zone. It is based on the 1995 superhero film of the same name.

2008 AVGN Episode[]

The episode first aired on July 22, 2008 on Gametrailers, 4 days after the theatrical release of the most recent Batman film in the franchise at the time, The Dark Knight. It later debuted on YouTube on January 27, 2010. It is Part I of a two episode review on various Batman games. The episode guest stars Mike Matei as The Joker.

The Nerd plays the SNES version of this game. He heavily criticizes the game's controls, mainly "Up" controlling your jump, and how the button combos to jump down and use your grappling hook are "like a cheat code". The game's Mortal Kombat-like engine is also criticized, along with the stock villains and the length of time it takes to kill them.

R-Zone Episode[]

The Nerd would later review the Batman Forever game for the Tiger Electronics R-Zone. While he only briefly commented on the actual game, mostly focusing on the problems with the R-Zone itself, he was confused by the gameplay, and complained about not being able to turn around and attack the enemies behind Batman.

  • The Nerd says a pun based off the name by saying, "It sucked back then, and it sucks forever!"
