Production

Development

On September 2010, James Rolfe posted a video online, telling the fans that a feature film based on the series is planned and that a script had been in the works ever since 2007. However he stated that the film will take a while to make since pre-production had not yet started and that he was still going to make AVGN episodes for some time. He also stated that the film would not be a "two hour game review".

At the end of Episode 101, it was confirmed that the Atari 2600 game E.T. would be reviewed in the movie in some form.

Pre-Production

After Episode 101, James stated the episodes would still continue to be made despite the production of the film. However he stated that their will be short, and simple episodes. Starting around Summer to Fall 2011, Auditions for roles for the movie around the United States began and were completed.

Fund Raising

There were several fund rasing campaigns during the film's pre-production including one one the fundraising website; Indi-GoGo. Rolfe set a target on the site for $75000 of fan donations but by the end of the fundraiser over $325,000 had been donated. Rolfe later stated that he thought the film could now be enitely fan-funded.

Filming

Filming offically began on April 2nd 2012 around the Los Angeles area. Filming eventually ended on May 11th 2012. The East Coast filming will take place sometime Summer 2012.

Post Production

The film will be edited as soon as the filming concluded. A planned release date between Christmas 2012 to Summer 2013 has been planned.

Nerd Logs

During production of the film, Rolfe has been releasing a series of vlogs titled 'Nerd Logs' on Cinemassacre.com. These videos keep fans up to date on the films production and Rolfe's journey to L.A.
